Advising Services
Advising is available to all current students and alumni of Baylor University. Through one-on-one guidance, the Pre-Law Program helps you explore whether a career in the legal profession is the right fit for your skills and interests, prepare for the academic demands of law school, and navigate the admissions process successfully. Students are encouraged to meet with the Program regularly, beginning as early as their first semester.
Advising appointments are offered both in person and virtually. There are several ways to schedule:
Navigate: Current pre-law students receive monthly emails with instructions to schedule an appointment through Navigate.
Email or Phone: Alumni may contact the Pre-Law Program directly at prelaw@baylor.edu or call 254-710-8919 with questions or appointment requests.
Advising sessions are organized into three main areas, which you can learn more about below:
Designed for students in the early stages of exploring a legal career. This session provides an overview of the Pre-Law Designation and Pre-Law Interest, how different majors can connect to pre-law pathways, and opportunities such as Mock Trial, Moot Court, and the Baylor Undergraduate Law Review. Students will also learn foundational steps for preparing for law school.
Supports students considering the Legal Reasoning and Analysis Minor, guided by the American Bar Association’s “Statement on Pre-Law Preparation.” Advising focuses on how the minor fits into both academic planning and the student’s overall pre-law journey.
Intended for rising seniors, graduating seniors, and alumni. These sessions address LSAT preparation, application strategies, review of application materials, and financing law school.
